- When presenting a resume electronically in MS Word, see to it that you are saving it in version 03 & not in 07. Most of the companies may not have the upgraded software and they may not have the new version of MS Office. So, they will not be able to open the document and they will not try to open it for the second time also.
- Make use of Arial or Times New Roman Font with the font of 12. This is a business standard & most of the HR personnel prefer this font as it is easy to read.
- See to it that you use superior quality paper when taking your resume printed. Do not rely on copy paper to get noticed.
- Tell at least two of your friends or advisor to read the resume with the critical eye. Check whether there is no grammatical or spelling mistake before taking the print of the final copy on good quality stock.
- Make use of the keywords in your objective statement from the job posting. This will create it look like you are the right person who should be hired for this position.
